Breast Cancer Screening

What is this screening?

A mammogram is an X-ray image of the breast. It can find breast cancer early, when treatment is most successful.

Who needs this visit?

Most women ages 50-74 should have a mammogram. Some experts believe mammograms should occur every year and others believe every 2 years is appropriate. Some women who have a family history of breast or other GYN cancers may need to start getting mammograms before age 50. Your doctor can help you determine when to start getting mammograms and how often they should be done based on your risk.
